Fall 2018 Regional Summit Series

Life of an Athlete NH recently hosted three Summits for NHIAA student-athletes across the state. The Fall 2018 Regional Summit Series was open to all student-athletes, coaches, and administrators of NHIAA member schools.

The topic covered at these Summits was the dangers of vaping. Dr. Albee Bunditz presented the medical perspective of this widespread issue that our students are faced with now. Dr. Bunditz had many impactful facts, figures, and scientific research to share with the groups. Next, Ms. Laurie Warnock from the Poison Control Center presented on vaping prevention messages. Many students are very aware of the dangers of vaping and why it's not a good choice, however, they need guidance on how to persuade their peers to make the right choice to not vape. Ms. Warnock, along with the guidance of the coaches, administrators, and Life of an Athlete NH staff, helped the students brainstorm ways to bring the information they learned back to their schools and help their peers make good choices.

Schools created action plans to help them tackle this tough issue. The students who attended these Summits are considered to be leaders in their schools. Student leadership will be key in spreading the messages regarding the dangers of vaping.

What are they saying about the Fall 2018 Regional Summit Series?
